Mission and Values
The trucking and logistics industry provides the backbone of the economy. But the payments infrastructure on which it runs is broken. For the hard-working men and women of this sector, the existing suite of payment tools is outdated, difficult to use, prone to fraud, and saddled with shady fee structures. The incumbent players in this space often overlook the economic and practical needs of this user base.
We're changing that. AtoB is building Stripe for Transportation — modernizing the payments infrastructure for trucking and logistics.
Supply chains rely on the timely movement of capital to function efficiently. Our end game is a world in which that capital movement occurs fairly, smoothly, and without delay. As we pursue that end game, we aim to center our customers in every way — offering them world-class customer experience and building products that work with and around the unique constraints of their daily lives. We build for fleet managers in the office and drivers on the road. We strive for products that are efficient, satisfying, and useful. Our customers enable our modern economy — they deserve it.
We’re 150+ full-time employees and contractors now. Our core team consists of 15 engineers and ~10 leads in the business org. The rest 125 are contractors in sales, support, and risk teams.
By the end of this year, our core team will grow to 30+ engineers and 20+ business team members.

As an early-stage startup, we do work harder than usual but it is not expected for employees to work after 6pm their time or on weekends. A lot of our employees have kids and other obligations which we understand.
We hold performance reviews every 3 months and we offer performance based bonuses.
We try to have an immediate feedback loop for all constructive feedback. Every 3 months, we will share what percent of the bonus we think is appropriate for that employee for that quarter along with the reasoning.
We don’t have a dedicated HR team yet -- though we’re hiring. Currently, we haven’t had major disputes since we’re so young but usually, all critical feedback is shared with one or more of the founders.</div>
Team Culture & Bonding
Our founding team started working on atob when we learned about the problems that small and medium trucking businesses face. We spent several weeks at truck stops talking to 100s of drivers and fleet managers.
We have 3 founders: Vignan, formerly a Robotics engineer from Cruise Automation; Tushar, previously an early Uber Asia employee; and Harshita, previously built a crypto-related app that was featured on the App Store.
Employees enjoy the fast-paced environment and working on a meaningful problem (technology that helps SMBs). We’re a fully remote team with employees everywhere in the world (India, Canada, etc). We meet every 2-3 months in person for a week and work together in an Airbnb. This allows us to whiteboard problems together and bond as a team.
The first call will be with Harshita, a co-founder of AtoB who currently manages the engineering and product team. After that call, there will be 4-5 technical interviews of 1 hour long each with senior engineers in the team. If we decide to not move forward, we will try to provide feedback on why.
