🚀 Mission
At Beeper, we're working hard to build the best darn chat app in the world. And we're hiring!
Beeper consolidates messages from 15+ chat apps into a single inbox to eliminate missed messages and notification overload. By integrating the most popular messaging services like iMessage, WhatsApp and Slack into one app to read and reply to all chats, we're making it really easy to stay in touch with your friends, family and colleagues.
Beeper launched in early 2021 on Hacker News. Our CEO (Eric) previously started Pebble and was a partner at Y Combinator where he ran startupschool.org.
🏢 Where we work
Beeper is 100% remote with employees all around the world. Beeper does not have an official office, and we all work from home: the Bay Area, NYC, London, Toronto, Los Angeles, Austin, Philadelphia, Sochi, Helsinki, Kiev, etc.
✏️ Interview process
- Phone Screen: We typically do an initial phone screen to make sure we’re on the same page.
- Interviews: After that, we’d love to chat with you for a bit longer.
- Work together: Then our preferred situation is that we work together for a few weeks on a project (of course, we’d pay you whatever you think is fair). Often working together for a bit is a great way to determine whether there’s a good match as future teammates and it can give you a lot of transparency. We understand, however, that’s not always possible for every one (2-3 weeks, 5 hours per week minimum) and we're also open to a more typical interview process.
🖖 Work / life balance
We usually leave work around 6-7 PM to have dinner with friends or family. As a result of being an early-stage startup, we wouldn’t want to hide this reality to prospective candidates: raw hours actually make a big difference in the impact we can make right now. This won’t always be the case but it is at present. So, often we find ourselves working later on in the evening and during the weekend, but it’s mostly driven by personal ambition.
