According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 3 employees experiences a mental health issue, and depression is the #1 cause of disability worldwide. Modern Health partners with employers to offer a platform that combines technology and a human touch to guide individuals to the right mental health resources, at the right time – whether it's guided meditations or 1:1 sessions with a certified coach or licensed therapist.There are a large number of barriers preventing people from getting the right mental health care: cost, ability to find the right provider, insurance coverage, etc. We believe the need for mental health support touches everyone, ranging from ways to tackle depression/anxiety, financial stress, relationship difficulties, or even developing as a new manager. Providing access to the right resources is an important part of a person’s ability to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life.Modern Health addresses these needs by reframing how to approach mental health. We partner with companies and offer a comprehensive platform to employees as a benefit (at no cost to the employee!). We have a suite of mental health resources (digital content, coaching, and therapy), so we can provide the right level of support to each individual.Although mental health awareness is increasing and beginning to become de-stigmatized, there is still a long way to go. Our Founder & CEO is a woman and the majority of our leadership team is women. We are currently a team of ~200 and growing quickly!At Modern Health, we care about fostering close relationships between team members. As soon as new hires start, we assign them a cross-functional new hire buddy to give them support as they ramp up. To encourage team events, we provide a monthly stipend for managers to organize events that encourage their teams to have fun, get to know one another, and take a break from work. Work / Life Balance
We are all currently working from home but we hope to be back in our SF office in Autumn of 2021, but only if it’s safe for everyone. We are also hiring fully remote for certain positions. We are a quickly growing startup with all hands on deck, but we care more about the quality of work that gets done rather than the quantity. We empower our team members to set meaningful boundaries between work and life by encouraging everyone to take breaks, unplug when needed, and we also provide Mental Health days off for the entire team.We have a flexible PTO policy and managers actively promote taking time off. Our goal is for each person to feel they have space to take time off to relax and recharge.

We hold bi-annual performance reviews (360 review including self, peer, and manager feedback).
We have a Head of People who is actively building out the HR org. Before, our CEO and Head of Operations had been sharing responsibility for this function.We actively build relationships between managers and direct reports so that there is trust and understanding, so when disputes arise they are addressed in non-aggressive ways through communication with a manager and those having the dispute.
Depending on the role, there will likely be 1-2 phone screens, a take-home exercise/assessment, and a virtual onsite interview with 4-6 interviews. Hiring tends to happen quickly, between 1-4 weeks for the full process.
