Mission and Values
At Shelf Engine, our mission is to reduce food waste through automation. We harness the power of AI to provide real-time, intelligent forecasting for food retailers like grocery stores, restaurants, and cafes across the United States. We’re able to drastically reduce the amount of shrink (food waste) which in turn drives profit for retailers, lowers costs for consumers, and reduces the negative ecological and social impacts of waste. Here's a bit about our culture:We’re mission-driven. We’re working hard toward our shared vision of reducing food waste through automation. We show up for ourselves and our customers. We are honest with ourselves about our successes and failures, and when we make mistakes we own them and learn from them. We’re bold in our thinking and our actions. When encountering a new business opportunity, we focus on what we can do today, even if a full solution is much further out.
We are 120 full-time employees, 200 total employees (including our field team, which consists of part-time employees). We are hiring in Seattle (HQ), Denver, and many of our roles are eligible for remote anywhere in the US.
