Shana's home country was Mozambique, and when war broke out she, her parents, and her three siblings hiked two days across the mountain to find refuge in Malawi and then Zambia. Since being granted asylum and moving to the US, Shana has been living her life giving back to her community in Portland, Oregon, as well as the three countries she came from.
