We are looking for guidance regarding a social impact investment advisor who wants to work on an investment readiness process for our business, initially focused on a feasibility study. The goal is a vetted growth strategy supported with a practical investment plan which will scale our business. We are wondering:Has anyone done this?What role does an investment advisor play?How do you vet them?How much money is involved, both in terms of hourly rate, and possible company ownership?For reference, we’re currently bootstrapped, offering weekly online career programming with an eye to women shifting roles and careers, or returning after a break. We made a recent pivot to digital, with a growing community. Our eLearning series Back to Business debuts in Fall 2020, and our book, Back to Business, will be available from HarperCollinsLeadership Jan 2021. We want to capitalize on that momentum.
