Hi! I was laid off from tech sales in September 2023. Tough job market, as you know. I am looking to get into a new sales role that appreciates the work ethic of the midwest! I am open to tech sales and other sales...does not have to be tech for me to be interested. Mostly, I want a stable company that offers good customer service to their clients and is also providing a product with a good market fit. Due to my location in South Dakota, most likely I would be best suited to WFH roles with the ability to travel to clients. TYIA for any suggestions!
I don't think there's a sales role open right now but @collynwarner is often hiring at her firm so maybe one to keep an eye out https://elpha.com/posts/whur961j/democratic-data-exchange-hiring-for-client-success-manager-cycle-hire-and-data-analyst-cycle-hire-rolesZapier might also be hiring and https://elpha.com/jobs/business-development/partnerships/sales-development-representative/sales-enablement/sales-engineering/sales-generalist/sales-management/sales-operations?sort=newestCurious: what's the Midwest work ethic like (i'm not at all familiar)?!
Hi @iynna! Midwest is known for our down to earth personalities. Also, many customer service centers are located in the midwest because of our accent (or lack of?)...seems to be easy for folks to understand than some thicker accents. Not sure if all this is still the case, but I recall this being a few items that drew employers to Midwesterners. Also, I'd say in general, we are focused and driven employees. That could stem from generations of farming communities and the large small business culture we have too....if you don't work, you don't eat!I appreciate you telling me about these other connections I need to look into! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your willingness to help offer up a new direction for me to travel on!
