My amazing friends at Waeve Inc. are hiring a Product Manger! Waeve is a vc-backed, digital-first, community-driven beauty startup that is redefining a $6B hair extension and wig industry with no market leader and no real brands. They sell wigs, and we make the experience fun and easy. Founded by three black women, Waeve’s brand is centered around creating a community where black women (the primary consumers of hair extensions and wigs) feel heard and celebrated, and where the customer experience is paramount. If you believe that too, go and work with them!Position​: Full-Time, In-Person Location​: Boston, Massachusetts (USA)About the Job:As Waeve’s first full-time Product Manager, you will directly report to the Head of Product and have full responsibility for the delivery of the physical wig product! You’ll do this by working with the product and customer teams to identify which wig styles we want to develop, working with suppliers to get those products made to correct specifications, and then coordinating the delivery of the wigs to our fulfilment center here in Boston. You will also work alongside each member of the Waeve team assisting in strategic planning, identifying opportunities for growth and expanding internal processes. You will be part of the founding team and you will directly shape the products and culture of Waeve.Responsibilities:● Manage and implement each phase of Waeve’s new product strategy, supporting market research, product research and testing, pricing, competitive analysis, sample development, timeline creation and management through product launch.● Own and identify KPIs and essential metrics that will support both the Product and Operations teams.● Conduct inventory planning and demand forecasting recommending product order strategies and keeping key stakeholders informed of inventory health.● Craft and own clear timelines for new product development, considering business goals and ensuring important milestones are hit.● Manage sourcing and vendor relationships – negotiating pricing by keeping business margins in mind, managing production schedules, arranging product testing and working with factories to ensure quality control standards are consistently met.You are:● Excited about Waeve’s mission and brand.● Detail and process oriented.● Analytically-minded and comfortable living in spreadsheets, performing data analysis andpresenting that information in a way that is digestible for the broader team.● An entrepreneurially-minded initiative-taker able to identify and pursue opportunities forimprovement.● An experienced project manager with a proven ability to prioritize and meet concurringdeadlines.● Comfortable with ambiguity, and have a “no task is too small” mentality.● Proficient in Google Suite.● Someone who likes to have fun and work hard!● Looking forward to making history by joining the team of a new black women owned startup.Things you might have on your resume that would help you succeed in this job:● Developed products for a consumer-facing company – particularly in fashion or beauty.● Incorporated customer feedback and other sources into proposed new products.● Found international suppliers, built lasting successful relationships.● Worked successfully to maximize selling price and profit margin.● Designed successful product development processes that others could follow.Bonus:● You have worked at an early stage e-commerce startup before.● You are excited about wigs as a form of self expression.What you’ll gain from this opportunity:● Competitive salary, employee benefits, and stock options.● Exposure to a fast-growing venture-backed company and its investors and board members.● Lots of room to grow -- we promise to promote you as quickly as your abilities warrant!● The chance to become a member of the founding team, make a huge impact, and have a lot offun!How to apply:● Send a resume and a short cover letter to ​[email protected]​.● In your cover letter, tell us one story of a product introduction you were involved with, and whatyour role was.
