Tailorie is currently seeking a talented and experienced Head of Engineering to join our well funded and rapidly growing early stage startup. This person will jump in and take the lead on all things technical. Hi! We’re Tailorie. A social recommendation platform that will change the way brands and consumers discover one another. The future of e-commerce needs not only to be social but also authentic. Discovering new products and brands digitally needs to be as human as genuine word-of-mouth recommendations. At Tailorie we are building a solution that accomplishes just that — we are focused on connecting rather than selling - tailored introductions rather than targeted ads. We empower consumers to add their human voice to big data while providing brands the tools to truly understand them. Our innovative solution levels the playing field in digital advertising and data analytics for emerging businesses and guides consumers to discover brands and products that are uniquely relevant to what and who is important to them...according to them. We’re not the only ones excited about the Tailorie launch - we have already on-boarded over 500 brands (prelaunch) and have grown a healthy sized consumer waitlist. Who we’re looking for: ● You have a creative, resourceful, and solution-driven mindset – which drives your ability to proactively anticipate and identify issues, establish a plan to solve, and rapidly implement the solution.●You have experience rapidly scaling a product. What You’ll Do:Create. Build. Implement. Manage.Bring the technical voice to the product team and collaborate on product strategy and roadmapping. You’ll contribute recommendations on technical feasibility, engineering timelines, and technical product direction.Lead and take full ownership of our system architecture and drive all technical decisions. You’ll own the codebase and development of the mobile apps (ios/android) and web application. You’ll ensure our infrastructure is deployed, secured, well-maintained, and documented.You will own the management and evolution of the engineering team. You’ll create and implement product development processes, lead team meetings, assign tasks to engineers, and ensure your team moves quickly and builds consistent, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. You will need to roll up your sleeves and spend time in the code daily alongside your team. What You’ll Bring: At least 5+ years working as a software engineer, with at least 2+ years in a leadership roleA deep understanding of data structures, algorithms and ML frameworksExperience building, deploying and scaling cloud architectureAbility to determine and articulate forward-thinking engineering decisionsA passion for building, mentoring, and managing a team of smart, curious, and creative engineers.An enthusiasm and endurance that allows you to excel in an early-stage company culture.Familiarity but better yet, best practices in: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Java, Swift & Amazon Web Services.Bonus points for:Experience at a “mobile-first” consumer companyExperience successfully collaborating with or leading remote or distributed teamsEntrepreneurial experience Our Culture:● We’re not just here for a job.
