When good intentions lead to burnouthttps://breakoutfromburnout.eventbrite.com/

When you hear about burnout, does ambition ever come to mind? During my last Breakout from Burnout webinar, several attendees said they were surprised to learn that intensive drive and ambition are early indicators of burnout. As a neurocoach, I’m highly attuned to those factors as I work with clients. It was also not too long ago when my own desire for achievement and success led me to discover I was burned out and needed help.I was grieving the loss of a family member and planning the funeral, while working a demanding job as a new mom. Needless to say, I had a long to-do list that I powered through daily, but on this day my brain and body had enough. There I was, in the middle of Macy’s with an arm full of clothes to try on, when my heart started racing, I broke into a cold sweat, and suddenly froze. I felt paralyzed, and couldn’t breathe. I tried to open my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Not a peep. I remember looking around frantically, thinking, something is wrong, but there’s nobody here who can help me. And just as soon as the symptoms began, they went away. My breathing and heartbeat returned to normal, but I knew that I needed help. Thankfully, I found support soon afterwards and made prioritizing my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being a daily practice. Along my journey, I transformed from the inside out and felt inspired. I decided to become a neurocoach to support other anxious achievers like me. That was three years ago, and I believe all of my experiences prepared me to speak out and advocate for people on the verge of and in the midst of burnout right now. Experts say we are in the beginning stages of a burnout crisis induced by the pandemic. What’s insidious about burnout is that the effects can be so gradual and subtle that people keep going until they have their own Macy’s shopping moment, when their condition all of a sudden becomes too much to bear.A major part of my work is dedicated to providing training and gentle, healthy tools to support people so they can avoid and/or recover from burnout to enjoy their lives with more ease. I believe it’s possible, even during this stressful, uncertain, and for many, traumatizing time. Details about my next Breakout from Burnout event are below. Please sign up and/or share it with someone you know who will benefit from it. I also created a free guide (see below) with easy-to-understand, neuroscience-based information to help people prevent and recover from burnout. Download it, take time to review it, and think of ways it may help you or someone you know. After you do that, contact me, and let me know your story. I wish you the best on your journey and am available if you need additional support.Webinar: https://breakoutfromburnout.eventbrite.com/ attend live or get the recordingFree Guide: https://keshawnhughes.com/breakout-from-burnout-guide
