My interview with IndieHackers got published today!https://www.indiehackers.com/interview/the-long-road-to-10k-in-30-days-414169d6b8My cofounder, @lucygliang and I are in the super competitive weight loss niche for the past 3 years. About a year ago, we also started running out of runway (i.e. our savings). If you too are in a super competitive niche and are struggling to stand out, or you are looking for ways to extend your runway, I feel you. I hear you. And I hope our lessons from the past 3 years help shortcut you to your goals. If you have any questions or thoughts on the interview, I'd love to hear them! Thank you for sharing! I encourage others to check out this article - this is the real deal about what it takes to build a successful bootstrapped business in a competitive field. It's optimistic and actionable, and you see the real journey behind the scenes.
Thank you, Megan!
HUGE props - this is amazing. I'm curious about your very last point in the piece: filtering advice. Have you built a community of founders in your niche/where you are?
I haven't. I'll admit it's mainly because I haven't prioritized making those connections till now. What about you for your niche?
It's challenging! I've gone through fits and starts myself, but working on doing this through Facet (https://www.hellofacet.com/). But I do think growth stage and funding source matters more than niche. I find that tactical advice is easy to find, but making decisions for my own company is a lot more difficult.
Wow! This is so in-depth and insightful. Thank you for sharing, and congratulations on your and @lucygliang's hard-earned success!
Thanks! We still have a LOT to figure out and we are nowhere close to where we want to get to, but it's nice to look back and be able to point out cause-and-effect of what got us some progress. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts!
My pleasure! The clarity and conviction with which you articulate yourself is really impressive. You may have a lot to figure out, but hey, don't we all? You've also come a hell of a long way!
