Needed: Social media guru for CodeNation (non-profit brings power of tech to underserved communities)https://codenation.org/

Hi all, I run an early-stage health tech venture fund in SF called Healthy Ventures. I'm also a donor and advisor to a nonprofit called CodeNation which trains underserved public HS students for technical jobs. They rely on engineers from startups to volunteer as tutors throughout the school year. Since COVID, the teaching has gone fully remote. As you can imagine, there's more demand than ever from public school districts where any coding instruction by the school has been squarely tabled so need CodeNation more than ever to further fill those gaps. They serve students in the Bay Area, NYC, and Chicago, sourcing technical tutors from companies such as Salesforce, Asana, Ripple, etc. The students served are largely students of color and disproportionately female. CodeNation partners with schools where 75% or more of the student population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch. During the past school year, 77% of Code Nation students identified as Black or Latinx. Their mission is all about attacking the "pipeline problem" in tech -- and bringing the enormous wealth-generation engine of tech to underserved communities where there are no natural touchpoints into the tech ecosystem. What they need: a volunteer who can manage their social media presence (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) and help them make more NOISE in the world! There is so much momentum now to help marry the momentum for social justice to actual ways to broaden access to opportunities -- and CodeNation sits right at the nexus of this potential. Could you, or someone you know, work with the CEO Becca Novak to own their social media efforts? If so, pls reach out to her directly and reference that you saw a post from me about this: [email protected]Based in SF, but obviously everyone's remote for now. Thanks, Enmi
