I have always volunteered along side my work since I was a student. From mentoring others, working in the Amazon rain forest, teaching children from the Townships in South Africa (my wonderful birthplace) and sitting on various trustee boards to name just a few. It isn't just about the pure altruism of making a difference to the cause, it also helps you grow to have different experiences.
