Tech By Choice - Hack and Learn

At the end of April, a small group of Tech By Choice members shared their concern for small businesses struggling to stay afloat. The community discussion evolved into what is Tech By Choice’s first Hack and Learn Hackathon (8/24/2020 - 9/04/2020). Our Hack and Learn is a two week, multidiscipline, hackathon aimed to solve issues minority-owned businesses face moving to the digital space. Our technologists saw a need in their communities, had the skills to address it, and decided to act. Together we will help minority-owned businesses thrive online. Join the community 09/25/2020 to celebrate the business and technologist we work with! We’ll even have a bit of #FoundersTea to spill. Looking to get involved?- We're on the lookout for speakers who would like to speak during our demo day (09/25/2020). We're looking for speakers who are looking to inspire folks on or thinking about going down the entrepreneur path.- Help spread the word! We're still fundraising for this event to provide ongoing support to businesses beyond the event. We offer a holistic approach that includes exploring vocational pathways, education, mentorship, and supporting self-care/life skills. Our members identify as: BIPOC, Disabled, Latinx, Women, LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, and Allies. They practice different disciplines at all levels: Developers, Designers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and more. TBC is dedicated to building a coalition that uplifts us all.
