Octave is a Series B mental health company based in SF and NY (though totally virtual through Covid). We employ mostly therapists, but have a growing business team building out infrastructure (people, technology, processes) to scale. We recently secured new funding and hired a CTO and are looking to grow our team of 2 engineers to 10 in the coming months! If you've been in therapy, you've likely seen this issue--most therapists don't work with insurance because of the overhead costs to them and the low reimbursement rate that insurance companies offer. We've worked it out so that we get reimbursed well *and* people can pay their just a co-pay so that it's a sustainable model for everyone. We practice evidence-based therapy and use measurement-based care techniques to aid care delivery. We're busy building out new infrastructure to replace the prototype/v1 systems that supported the early business and there is a lot of opportunity to break new ground! We use Python/Django, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL and integrate a few different 3rd party platforms to run the business (for example Stripe to process payments and Acuity Scheduling to schedule sessions).
