How do I pivot into SaaS content writing?

Hi everyone!

I've been a content writer for about 7 years now and I've never chosen a niche to focus on. I have written in various fields including crypto, skincare, beauty, news, and more recently online gambling.

I've never picked a niche because I felt I didn't want to limit myself but mostly because I didn't find anything that resonated with me.

I have recently been looking into SaaS writing and for the first time, I have found a field I want to focus on but I need as much help as I can get.

1. How do I transition into SaaS writing?

2. How do I present myself as a good fit to any potential employer? Are there any transferrable skills to highlight?

3. Does anyone know of any course or certification I can take?

Please all and any advice is welcomed. Thank you so much for your time!

Exciting times for you! And it's great to see the work you've done over the years. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably- find other content writers in the space in which you are looking to go into and hold informational interviews to ask them about their journey, how they got there, what are the biggest demands of the job etc- nail your story down: it comes down to many things including storytelling - so why tech writing? why you (years of experience, you can switch between industries etc)? And specifically I'd probably highlight your ability to go deep in the product and the industry too since you'd be focused on something more technical and possibly more niche than the kind of writing you've done so far. - you could work on a portfolio of sample writing instead of taking courses, and hold as many conversations as possible to put your name and profile out there as a starter.
