Mission/Objectives of the Position:

  • Drive customer acquisition and growth through brand awareness and secure qualified leads
  • Secure 40-50 qualified leads per month via organic growth methods
  • Build a consistent growth playbook leveraging a test-and-learn approach to find and prove repeatable, predictable growth efforts
  • Expand our business MoM

Responsibilities:

  • 60% of the role: Lead Generation/Growth Marketing
  • Identify & post content in relevant digital groups, blogs, forums, etc. to bring awareness and source potential customer leads (i.e., threads, hashtags, LinkedIn articles, blogs and forums, Reddit, Quora, Elpha, LinkedIn Groups, FB Groups, Slack Groups, etc.)
  • Leverage creative organic growth hack strategies with active daily participation (posting, commenting/replying, etc) in selected digital communities
  • Autonomy to ideate and propose most strategic solutions to efficiently garner qualified leads
  • Act as an ambassador and provide value to all prospective clients who are interested in and posting/asking for professional/career support, as their first point of contact to WOKEN
  • Perform outreach to prospective partner organizations

30% of the role: Social Media/Content

  • Create, post and schedule content (static + video) across brand’s social channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok
  • Strategize whenever appropriate to re-share and repurpose content

10% Funnel Optimization + Reporting:

  • Support Founder/CEO with email marketing and SMS marketing to improve and optimize conversion at the middle and bottom of funnel
  • Monthly analytics and reporting to measure progress (Channels and efforts will adjust for following months dependent on metrics/learnings)
  • Meet weekly with Founder/CEO on upcoming efforts, learnings, alterations to the approach and provide and receive consistent feedback on efforts, ideas, improvements, and client landscape

Future Evolution of the Role:

  • Improve funnel/conversion to reach certain benchmarks, readying us for testing paid channels
  • Run paid channels (Google Paid + advertising on unique platforms and/or standard social media channels)
  • Oversee, drive, direct overall growth strategy
  • Oversee all areas of marketing funnel
  • Run partnerships
  • Run SEO
  • Oversee website designer
  • Oversee 1-2 marketing interns

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 2-5 years with marketing experience, ideally within a startup
  • Interest in driving and managing growth for a D2C startup
  • Previous experience working as a contractor or freelance preferred (project management and time tracking will be required)
  • Previous community management experience
  • Interest in social media
  • Interest in growth marketing
  • Excellent communication, written, and analytical skills -- we care about results and metrics
  • Naturally inclined towards realizing business expansion by thinking of out of the box growth tactics with a creative, bootstrapped mindset (doing a lot with a little)
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and paid advertising/social preferred
  • Interest in working at a startup and growing/building a team from the bottom up
  • Comfortable working directly with a Founder/CEO in a scrappy, ambiguous environment
  • Adept at supporting a senior leader to efficiently execute

Pay:

  • $20-$30/hour, 10-15 hours/week (depends on experience level)
  • 100% remote -- requires availability between 9am-6pm est
