Thank You Elpha Womxn!!!!

Hoping I've tagged everyone here@kuan @renaobrien @akahsha @amazzocchi @KimTaylorI wanted to write with exciting news - almost 1 year since I wrote this post, I got approval from my leadership team to join the Product Team full-time January 1. Here is the post: https://elpha.com/posts/cqa6uecg/non-technical-product-managers-please-help?hid=muje0fz4#967nox0mI have been working with the product team for the last 6 months, and am about to deliver my first feature to a customer by the end of October.And today, I got to present the feature I have been working on in front of the whole company alongside the rest of the Product team. My head of Product, a brilliant and caring man, who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, took the opportunity to jump the gun and announce to the whole company on the call that I'll be joining his team.I'm not sure how I heard about Elpha initially, but I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of relief after each of you responded to my above post. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to give me the confidence I needed to stick it out and advocate for myself.I don't know about you guys, but my circle of women and mentors (that are mostly women) are what get me through transitions like this. As I spoke with more women, and told them about my situation, I learned that most women have to advocate, fight, wait it out, fight again, get more internal champions, threaten to leave, get outside experience, and fight again to get where we want to go. I had actually accepted that this move internally wasn't going to happen because of my leadership team and because of the pandemic.So thank you, thank you to all of you and everyone on this platform.Best,Sarah
