Growth Ideas and Experiments You Run during COVID-19 Quarantine (That worked and that didn't)https://www.hypertry.com

Hello Ladies! I wanted to share some of the ideas and experiments that I run during COVID-19 Quarantine along with learnings and Results. I will start with a product-based one, hunting after new opportunities.#1: Go after the trend: TuDia revampIn our Venture Builder, one of the ventures we developed, trying to make the most of the new law in Spain that requires to track employees working time and resting in order to make, back in 2019, was TuDia.es. TuDia was a failure. Why? We came too late. Companies were starting to think about the software to use, etc. around a month, two months BEFORE the law came in effect. Our software was ready one week AFTER. We planned to launch 1-2 weeks before, and came a little late. In that case, 90% of our replies were: Thanks, but we are already set up with {insert_any_competitor_name_here}.We forgot TuDia and decided to put in in the "Didn't work" bucket, till the quarantine started. There was a lot of uncertainty (still is) as on how the "new normality" will look like. At the end of may, we already knew that if we are back to the office, it will be with limited capacity. We decided to give TuDia a try and add a feature to know, not only if you are working / resting and what project you are working on and whether you are happy to be interrupted or are not willing to be bothered at all, but also, whether you will be working from home or from an office (and which one). This development was quick and we decided to start experimenting only to learn that there is little to no interest in managing office space, as most people are still working from home till September, and the uncertainty is so important that there are not willing to sign up for anything new till the end of august. What we have done to get this learnings?- Personal outreach to 30 HR managers - Video ads on how to set up the account, with USP and UVP (1700 reached)- Nurturing to all accounts with pain point solution (20)- Sponsored Inmails to Office Managers (100 sent) We had 0 subscriptions. The feedback was clear, and we will implement new ideas at the end of August. If this doesn't work, the hypothesis that people in Spain are willing to manage their office capacity online up front will be definitely rejected.
This is super interesting! It's not often you get to hear about stories that weren't a success necessarily and why. We can learn a lot from those, so thank you for sharing!
Actually, for those that follow Growth Hacking methodology: 95-98% of experiments usually fail. The key is to keep learning!
Echoing @sandramedina's point - I love how willing you are to be open about what hasn't gone so 'right' (which is really a fallacy because it's *this* that provides you with the knowledge and insight that will enable you to be successful longer-term). Massive kudos! Thank you so much for sharing.
True. All learnings applied for future experiments - and the planning one is essential, as timing may be everything for certain ones.
