Holy Macaroni, We Won the Grand Prize at Agora's RTE2021 Startup Battlefield 🏆

Y'all! @TalyMatiteyahu and I are so excited! We pitched Blink at Agora's #RTE2021 Startup Battlefield a couple of weeks ago and won the GRAND PRIZE! It's our first time getting selected to participate in a competition, so we were excited to have the opportunity to pitch. The competition was stiff, and with this being our first pitch, we didn't imagine we'd actually win. 😯🥳 So for anyone thinking “why bother doing xyz? there’s little chance we’d succeed given abc,” shush the naysayer in your mind and do it anyway cause who knows what can happen!

For anyone curious about what we're doing - we're trying to change online dating through real-time audio dating. Enough swiping on baseball card versions of humans. It's time to go back to the basics and actually have conversations! Our mission is to build a dating space where a person’s personality, values, sense of humor, passions, and quirks are what set them apart — not their looks, race, ethnicity, or fashion choices.

DM us if you ever want to chat about dating, relationships, being women-founders, or just to connect!

I saw this news on LinkedIn and I'm really exited for you and @TalyMatiteyahu! What do you think was the key to your success in winning the grand prize?
Thanks, @DianePrince! From what we heard after the event, we had the most polished and compelling pitch. @TalyMatiteyahu practiced a ton in advance of the presentation, and it really ensured she nailed the proverbial landing!
That's great! Is there a video?
Thank you @DianePrince! It was an incredible moment for us 😊To piggyback off @laciccone's comment, the feedback we heard also indicated that our pitch was the most organized and our materials most polished. Our competitors had some incredible products, but the judges' feedback for some indicated that their materials were confusing and their narrative a bit confusing. Laura and I spent months working on our deck, making the content and the visuals as compelling and clear as we could. We practiced going through the narrative and trying to find ways to include enough detail to get folks interested in a short amount of time. We still have work to do and I know we'll always be refining our deck & pitch, but we're so proud that our efforts and practice paid off here! There is indeed a recording😅- here it is in case you're interested! https://inevent.com/en/Agora-1612209705/RTE2021-1621463424/live.php#(liveID:'290591',lobby-display:all) (I believe our pitch is at around 1:26)
I DO want to see it, but this link requires a user name and password. My clients often want to see examples of successful pitches and I'd love to share it if that's possible.
Oh hmm. It's "behind" Agora's event log in, but the event/recordings are totally free to access with a log in (I imagine it's a way for them to generate leads...) Do you think folks would be deterred by the user+password, even if it's free?
It's a little confusing because there's no option to create an account, it just offers Login to existing account.
Oh no! I screen recorded our portion of it and saved it in drive. I made the link accessible here (if it's supposedly available via Agora, I may as well, right?) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XiUTY4uuwEimToeWUPl95f5fZWNp79fD/view?usp=sharing
