Suggestions on how to get donations?

Hello everyone

Is it possible to actually get donations or fundings to support a project? I'm looking at about $5000 to $10000 enough to start.

I'm looking at applying to investors later on, however I need to push the project to start.

I'm from one of the African countries, GoFundMe doesn't work unless I get someone in the listed countries.

Is there any other possible way?

Hi! Depending on where you're from and what your project you might be able to apply to some grants, it's a little bit cumbersome to put an application together but might be worth checking out especially for the amount you're looking for. I'd also look into microfinance Kiva being a reliable option.
Thanks for the response, I'll check around for possible grants
Will Kickstarter be an option? https://www.kickstarter.com/
I'll just see if it works, thank you
As already mentioned, grants are a good option. There are so many grants for African founders. I have received grants for previous African-based projects that I’ve worked on and I am happy to share the process. Crowdfunding is a good option but can be really time consuming and will require a lot of marketing for you to get people to donate. One of the popular options for crowdfunding in Africa is mchanga but I don’t know if it’s available in your particular country.
Have you looked into Kickstarter? I've heard it's a very valuable resource for crowdfunding. If it's not available in your country, I would try sharing your project with your network (here, on LinkedIn, and on other social networks) and ask people to donate what they can. If enough people get involved with small donations, that could get you to your goal.
As an African, finding tech jobs has always been tough. I struggled with this at the start of my career and still do. In fact, I had to pause my job search to focus on my kids. Many people around me faced the same challenge: lack of work experience. Now, I'm determined to fix this problem. That's why I want to launch an internship platform. It will give job seekers real tasks to work on, providing valuable work experience. I need money to set up and promote the program to companies and recruiters. I also want to register it so that the certificates are free and recognized worldwide. This project connects with Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, and 3, by improving chances of job opportunities, job seekers stand a chance to take care of their families, reducing hunger, poverty and improving well being. It also supports SDG 4 by enhancing the quality of education through hands-on experience. Ultimately, it contributes to SDG 8 by helping people gain skills for better jobs, which benefits the economy. If this resonates with youPlease kindly pledge your donations here: https://whydonate.com/en/fundraising/tech-for-everyone-democratizing-skills-and-elevating-dreamsThank you 😊#givejobseekersachance
