How I found help for Imposter Syndrome

Hey Elphas,Last year, I went through a big role change from Engineering Manager to Director. After I was promoted, I immediately experienced nearly debilitating imposter syndrome. It affected my confidence to the point that it was really impacting my day-to-day. My wife, @hannahlake, leads a group coaching program that she convinced me to join and though I am pretty skeptical about mostly everything, it ended up really helping me get on the road to working without the constant doubt and anxiety. In the group, I met other people that were in similar positions as I was that had similar struggles. I also met a lot of people that had very different jobs in different industries. Whether it was another director in tech, a policy manager, or a tenured professor, we all were accomplished and yet felt the weight of imposter syndrome. Hearing their stories really helped me get out of my head and realize that I was given this promotion because I had the skills and experience that was needed for this job. After attending the group I've been talking to a lot of others about imposter syndrome and so many people I talk to at my company and in my network are dealing with the same thing. It's made me realize that imposter syndrome is fairly rampant and it can be really hard to tell that other people are having similar problems because a lot of us outwardly appear confident even if we don’t realize it. Since realizing imposter syndrome is manageable, I've been trying to yell from the rooftops that feelings of imposter syndrome are common, and lots of people from all walks of life experience it.If you are suffering from this you are not alone and you do not have to go through it alone! If you are interested in joining an imposter syndrome workshop, there are two groups starting next week, one on Tuesdays and one on Saturdays. Highly recommend you check it out if you're struggling with imposter syndrome right now. My wife is also an Elpha so you're in good hands!https://www.hannahlakecoaching.com/imposter-syndrome-group
