2021 Resolutions
Hi all,With the new year a few days away, I am thinking about themes and aspirations I want to aim for. I'm going to write goals for my career, health, and creativity. What areas are you aiming to improve and how?
I'm aiming for one goal in each category, keeping it simple for now! These are each an extension of things I began in 2020, so I think they're SMART goals. :) Here they are:Creative: Learn calligraphy so I can hand-address next year's holiday cardsWellness: No noshing between meals in 2021Professional: Launch a new project to the world! Self-Care: Continue to read at least 30 minutes a day; meditate 10 minutes a day; hike once a weekI also love being inspired by others!
Oh! I love those goals. Didn't think of self-care in mine. Thanks for sharing!
I am aiming to improve my health, career and finances. Health: Complete 100 days of fitness - working out everyday for 30 minutesCareer: Learn and absorb as much as I can, get a promotion and write at least 5 newsletters on my substack (augustina)Finances: Hit my savings goal and learn more about how to invest!
Great goals! You didn't ask but I love Fitness Blender's workout routines (https://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender). The couple team behind the channel is all about exercising for yourself to feel good.
Here are a few things Iβm thinking about:1. What would set you up to begin January replenished, restored, recharged?2. Which qualities, values, things do you want to center in 2021? What new holiday traditions could support these?3. βNew Yearsβ marks a transition. What do you want to leave behind in 2020, and ready yourself for 2021? Honestly, this could even mean just taking time to process this past year and all that came with it.Does this mean we canβt have a glass of champagne to welcome in 2021? Hell no! It's just a reminder - which I need often - that WE hold the keys to our experience in 2021.For more wellness tips check out withPillar.com, an integrative wellness coaching website I've recently founded that makes affordable, personalized health guidance way easier to access. Health- have a regular exercise routine again (this fell away since gyms closed for covid)Fun- practice Spanish/French weekly- read 12 books (I got very close this year)Work- learn about currency hedging (any Elphas who are knowledgeable in this area, hmu!)Financial- make monthly investments (I have a monthly stock research chat with some friends and want to get more comfortable pulling the trigger on actually making the investments)
I love the categories of career, health and creativity! Here is one of mine for each category:Career: Build out a strong set of financial modeling and analysis skills.Health: Become somebody who actually goes to doctors when something is wrong (versus just pretending it will go away, as I currently do lol). Find great doctors that I can trust for every specialty area.Creative: Create more music and improve my electronic music production skills. My biggest goal for 2021 is to build a community of like-minded friends that are intellectual, creative, supportive and keep it weird! β
