Data Science Workshops for people outside the mainstream tech industryhttps://humbledata.org/

Hello everyone, I've just joined a volunteering project, Humble Data, where we want to give free online Python courses to people who are underrepresented in the tech world. We want to become the Django Girls for Data Science. Many people don't have easy access to follow Python courses. We want to find them and allow them to learn some handy beginner concepts. Hopefully, this gives them a stronger position in a difficult job market. Ultimately we also want to build a community to provide more support to our attendees in furthering their career and opportunities. We do this by creating a platform for mentors and attendees to find each other. Our 3rd event will be in November around the time of PyData Global. Since we're still in the very early stages of our project we're looking for all the help, we can get. This includes:- Sponsorship: to offer our attendees and mentors access to online tools (CoCalc mainly)- Mentors: more mentors means we can teach more people in one setting- Other projects who wouldn't mind teaming up or doing a little shoutout on our behalf so that we can reach our audience- Social Media Experts: we have enough data scientists helping out the project, but we're light on other areas- Community Experts: to engage everyone joining our workshops to discuss getting into a data science career or help each other into other opportunitiesIf you know anyone who would be interested, a community or project we should be talking to, if you're keen to help us out, or if you're happy even to volunteer 1 hour of your expertise, please reach out to me via DM or in the thread below. Thank you so much, Astrid and the Humble Data Team
