When your dream job doesn't payhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/tbaltimore

I have been unemployed for almost 4 months now and I don't want to go back to corporate life. I try to conjure up words to make myself sound more marketable on linked-in and job applications but the inspiration is just not there. I am a loyal employee but at a fault; which usually results in the fate of a layoff or a job opportunity. With that said, I can't find the inspiration to return to work, aside from the glaring fact that I need a stable income. The non-profit world won't offer the compensation I need to help my family thrive. My dream job would be to serve as a consultant for for small businesses seeking an evolved technology ecosystem for their client base (i.e. partnerships) under the umbrella of a larger corporation. I want to see people win without being a direct leader. I don't know what to do with this life but I have to keep the faith and hope something pops up soon. Thank you for letting me vent!

Hey @tmbaltim, first I want to commend you as it's clear you have given this a lot of thought and I know it's difficult to clarify what career is the best option for you. Given what you're writing, I recommend pursuing career exploration which includes a series of steps of practical learning and self-reflection in order to compare, contrast, and clarify which role, industry, and environment is the best fit for you.
