Pros and cons of searching for a co-founder
Hi Elpha! I’m new to using this platform but thought this would be a good community for this type of question. I am planning to spin out my current master's thesis research into a startup. The idea has some early traction (won a tech stars startup weekend) but I have not incorporated yet. So I’ve heard a lot of advice saying that the ideal scenario is a two co-founder team. I am a content expert and have created the MVP with the tech knowledge that I have but I wouldn’t call myself a technical founder. Do I really need to find a technical co-founder or can I hire for tech skills as things ramp up? I like the idea of having someone to work with but I don’t have anyone who is an automatic “yes” for this role.Should I spend the time to look for a co-founder? I am a bit hesitant about signing up for this type of relationship with someone I don’t know well. I would love to hear opinions on the pros and cons of being a singleton founder versus the necessity of having two or more on a founding team. Thanks and looking forward to hearing thoughts!Alex
