I wanted to let the Elpha community know about an opportunity to join the beta Street Team at Gowalla. The Street Team are the crucial folks who are helping us create the virtual world that Gowalla will launch into later this summer. But because joining the Street Team incurs a fee ($49-$99) we realize we could be leaving some community-minded folks out who would be great in helping build out our cities. Especially in a pandemic, we don't want to exclude someone because they don't have the $$ right now. As we work to launch this new augmented reality social game late this summer, it is important to us that we focus on inclusion and diversity alongside our other development milestones.

If you or someone you know is interested, please apply for a fellowship that would cover the cost of joining us. Please share with folks of all backgrounds, we're trying to get outside our bubble and skew the demographic to include more women and people of color.
