Making Cold Outreach *Hot*

What messages make you *actually* respond to cold outreach? Whether from a recruiter, a vendor, or someone who just wants to network: what would get you to hop on the phone with a total stranger and talk about your work?I'm a product expert, former consultant and solution architect, and industry knowledgeable. During COVID, I started a side hustle matchmaking business, wrote for Glamour a bunch, and got and recovered from a spinal infection. Currently, I sell a healthcare analytics platform to executives in hospital systems and health plans in the US at Arcadia.io - I love my work, product and the opportunity to improve America's disastrously disconnected health system. Sales, in healthcare, remotely, has some clunky challenges. I dread cold calling and LinkedIn messaging. I'm a better road warrior, than a phone warrior. I want to be having meaningful conversations and providing leaders with valuable solutions to their pressing challenges.Response rates on cold outreach historically are low - and I'd like to make mine shine and delight the recipients. What message would you be surprised to get, and then definitely respond to? What do you wish people asked you about when they cold hit you up on LinkedIn?Radical candor, humor, compliments, or industry insight... what makes you respond with a "Yes, let's chat!"?
Thanks for sharing and keep crushing it! So glad you recovered from spinal infection - that sounds terrifying! That's an interesting question - it depends for work I do get tons of cold emails (mostly sales pitch or founders looking for investment) I read all the emails but when it is not applicable I simply respond with one line explaining why it won't be a fit (in the case of a sales pitch) and if it's a startup pitching it depends on the content of the pitch itself :)On LinkedIn I get tons of outreach too so I have limited the ones I respond to simply because I np longer have the bandwidth :)
