Hi everyone!

We are Hiboo, and we graduated from Women in AI Accelerate in August and just won a Hackaton with Intel. We have a customer pipeline, defined GTM, and investors on board. By the way, Hiboo is pronounced [ibu], French for "owl." So read along; we're cool :-).

Super stoked to hire for a Product Owner role (with a focus on analytics and conversational design), an important position that touches every aspect of our product (grievance, engagement, insights). Hiboo is an AI-powered ally-at-work at the heart of a new organizational culture designed for women and underrepresented groups' advancement. The Beta is a private grievance channel in the form of a conversational assistant for employees to safely and privately report to management.

Problem

87% to 94% of individuals do not file a formal complaint after experiencing discrimination or harassment. In digits, 5 million people experience sexual harassment at work every year. Nearly all of it goes unreported. They fear blame, that nothing will be done, or that they will be ostracized. The process is flawed. Many HR professionals don’t know how they should handle these complaints when they come in. If escalated, the process takes ten months to investigate a charge.

We are at an inflection point.

Each year in this country, more than 2 million professionals and managers in today’s increasingly diverse workforce leave their jobs, pushed out by discrimination. Unfairness costs U.S. employers $64 billion annually – a price tag nearly equivalent to the 2006 combined revenues of Google, Goldman Sachs, Starbucks, and Amazon or the gross domestic product of the 55th wealthiest country in the world.

We're changing all this because we care (A LOT!). I started this company to make sure women and immigrants never feel discouraged, frightened, and alone in the workplace. I am an immigrant from Romania, built my career from scratch in the US, and am now ready to help others with Hiboo.

My background

I am a Forbes 30 Under 30 awardee on a mission to cultivate and spread empathy with AI and beyond. After receiving my Master’s in Statistics and Mass Communications at UCF, I built a career in Growth and Product Development in NYC, working with established companies such as Google, L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, and high-growth startups. In 2020, I opened a Growth Marketing Group, Empathy Global, to help brands scale with applied empathy and data™. I'm a behavioral marketing nerd and empathy activist, and my personal goal is to help millions of employees worldwide.

Role (PT/FT for a defined number of months, with the opportunity to stay with the company for an extended time + equity + FT salary + benefits)

As the Hiboo PO, you’ll be responsible for product planning (grievance, engagement/conversational AI, and insights), requirement refinement, user story writing, helping launch new products, build the analytics side, and change the face of Diversity & Inclusion. You’ll collaborate closely with not just our engineering teams but almost every department in Hiboo including conversational design and help get to the nitty-gritty of what we need to build to meet our business goals and then help our customers use it. In short, we’re looking for an outstanding candidate who possesses a high level of business and technical acumen and excels at working through the details.
