Come join us!This position can either be in Los Angeles USA or Melbourne Australia.The OpportunityWe are looking for an inspired and innovative leader to lead ettitude’s product development efforts. This person will be directly responsible for owning the full life cycle of product development and improvement functions. The role will also have a heavy focus on ensuring that our products and efforts support our sustainability mission. This role works cross-functionally and will report to the CEO and President.We believe collaboration is the key to bringing great ideas to life. We are looking for candidates with proven experience in building strong relationships cross-functionally with all stakeholders to bring the best products our customers expect to market efficiently and effectively.What You’ll DoSet the long- and short-term product roadmap based on market insights/analytics, customer feedback, and competitive/global market trends while encompassing our brand and business objectives.Create and maintain the quarterly line plan, making strategic and daily operational business decisions to ensure success and working closely with cross-functional partners on a daily basis to achieve set sales and margin targets whilst maintaining a healthy inventory position.Develop and execute strategies to identify opportunities to fill gaps in our product portfolio and to improve our existing products by engaging with our target market and customer base.Assume accountability for our long- and short-term sustainability goals as related to product development and innovation.Manage product merchandising by continuously evaluating our portfolio and driving performance by monitoring sales growth, productivity, margin, sell-through and other key metrics.Work with the Creative, Marketing and Ops teams to develop new product concepts; go-to-market strategies; pricing and profitability plans; sales projections; and inventory plans that align with our standards for innovation, ethics, and sustainability. Be the most knowledgeable person about our products - lead internal training for other departments to educate them on the ins and outs of what we offerCoach and manage product development and sustainability manager(s) as a direct, day-to-day manager.What We’re Looking For5+ years of product development and merchandising experience in a consumer-based retail environment. Experience in home textile or fashion and/or eCommerce preferred.Proven managerial and coaching ability.Experience with product planning, sales forecasting and working to budgets.Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring new process creation, process improvement, task prioritization, and strong project management.Strong experience in exploratory data analysis and in providing data acquisition and modeling requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving competencies with the ability to synthesize information, apply critical thought and present the information in a clear and meaningful way.Passionate about data-backed decision making complemented with strong strategic/critical thinking and problem-solving skills.A champion for sustainability who is passionate about our mission. Comfortable in a startup environment with evolving organizational needs.
