Looking for someone to take a chance on me :)

Hi my name is Daryl. I recently completed a bootcamp for full stack development. I would love to find a mini internship or mentorship that is part-time (pacific or central time), weeknights or weekends since I am still working 9-5pm est in my current position (have to pay the bills somehow). I need someone to take a chance on me! I am willing to work for free just to gain experience and hope that it could lead to something in the future! I would love to connect with someone that may be able to guide me! I would appreciate any opportunity to learn and grow as a developer. I am a career changer and know that I can add value and passion to any company I assist. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from other fellow Elphas!

Hey Daryl! Since you're looking for roles, you may also want to check out our Talent Pool at https://elpha.com/talent-pool where companies can reach out to you based on your experience and what you see as important values! You can also learn more about how we thought about our talent pool here: https://elpha.com/posts/kw2jvmti/introducing-the-elpha-talent-poolHope this helps and good luck! 💪
Hi @teresaman awesome of you for providing these resources. I tried to join the talent pool but the LinkedIn url does not get accepted for me to proceed. Would be great if you could help out or perhaps know what I might be doing wrong
Hm, interesting! Could you email me at [email protected] what you're doing and the error you're getting? Would love to help you into our Talent Pool! 🤗
@teresaman thanks I'll check it out! :)
Teresa provided some amazing resource already and I did want to add 2 things 1) we have amazing partner companies that are hiring like crazy ;-) so you should definitely peruse the page and reach out to any Epha working at those firms! elpha.com/jobs2) I recommend you post this on our Karma thread of September https://elpha.com/posts/c2lqh9d9/elpha-karma-circle-our-monthly-asks-offers-thread-for-september-2021 We will also write a new Karma post for the month of October on Oct 1st so if you want to also post there then you are welcome to do so! :)
@iynna thanks so much I definitely will!
Of course -please let us know how things go!
Hi @daryllast thanks for sharing your experience on here. I would suggest to start networking on Linkedin and other online communities so you can start to get to know more people. Also, are you already applying for junior dev roles? There are apprenticeships and internships at some companies that you can apply for, that can lead to FT dev roles. Even though you are currently working FT, perhaps you can start carving out time to apply for dev roles if you haven't yet. There's also roles like Customer Success and Implementations that's a great way to get into a company and then move into dev roles internally or to a new company, but with experience in the tech space already.
