For the 62nd post on my newsletter, I wrote about building & growing a (digital) reputation. It’s part of a playbook I’ve used (& I am using) ever since I started working in the United States. I know things are hard, I’m aware it’s uber competitive. For design jobs (in tech), most especially.
Turning experiences/skills/learnings into assets is a powerful unfair advantage. Just an added bonus that, over the years, this has turn an obviously stressful thing (job hunting, gig hunting, relationship building etc) into a surprisingly fun lifelong endeavor.
It’s not about ‘getting a job’; it’s very much about designing your destiny by putting yourself out there.
