Seeking advices and referrals from Elpha Ladies in the Bay Area πŸ™

Hey Elpha community, I love reading all your posts and the supportive community here, so I decided to do an anon ask as well. :) I am currently looking to break into bigger companies and have been reaching out to Alumni in the Bay Area and asking for referrals to their companies. I think my challenge is not applying for the right roles or finding the right fit. I know that we shouldn't turn away from a posting just because we don't meet 100% of requirements but apply anyways if we feel passionate about the role or have transferable skills, but I am having a hard time getting interviews. :( I was able to first stage past resume with Google, Salesforce, and some other companies. Also some of the "you need a job to get experiences but experiences to get the job" was a barrier for me as well. My education background was from Engineering undergrad (not software) and Business School (graduate school). I worked at a startup in Sales/Customer Success for 1.5 yrs, and the role is more like design consultancy with clients, so this was aligned with my passion for Design. I want to break into PM as the end goal using my skills and knowledge but also willing to take another stepping stone role into a big company as an in first since I am still pretty early in my career. Even tho my background was engineering, I feel like I lack the technical/analytical experience to apply to some roles since I haven't done much analysis or had the opportunity to do so at my current role which is also another reason why I am looking for a new challenge. What are your suggestions on new technical skills to pick up/learn on your own? From what you read what are some more junior roles to look into at bigger companies? I would love some advices to connect or if you are able to provide referrals to your companies that would be great. πŸ™ Long post so thanks for making it to the end. Please leave a comment, any insights would be great for me. πŸ’š
