Hey Elphas -

I started learning Indian Classical dance when I was 4 years old and continued to train with my teachers in the US and in India through my late twenties. This wasn't easy and I found myself sacrificing the thing I love most to accommodate the needs of the moment. I think our childhood passions often die a slow death because of our other commitments. Why is it that we continue with so many things, but when it comes to dance we sometimes say "I used to be a dancer". I kept thinking there has to be a better way to do this. In the spring of 2019, I was faced with a decision to move to Spain for my ninth career promotion or leave advertising to answer the question of how to bring dance online in a meaningful way. I think you've already figured out which path I chose :) But I had no idea what this ride had in store for me.

I had an MBA and a very successful decade in advertising under my belt. I was hopeful and optimistic about my ability to take on entrepreneurship. I didn't know at the time that my MBA taught me how to run someone else's company. My ad career taught me how to successfully promote someone else's established brands, but it was dance that made me stick through this very complex journey of transitioning from an employee to a founder.

Despite the many many ups and downs of this transition - I am very happy to report we launched this year! This app is my love letter to dance and a thank you to everyone who shared this journey with me - especially my fellow Elphas. I am forever grateful. I am proud of the fact that we have early traction and am excited to keep iterating to find our PMF.
