NEXT WEEK: SOAPBOXFEST, the first virtual festival on climate, community, and comedyhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/soapbox-fest-bay-area-climate-community-comedy-tickets-163087887261

Are you freaked out by the IPCC report on climate change? Do you want to DO something... but feel overwhelmed?

We can all use a good laugh, so that's what we're doing with SOAPBOXFEST 2021. On Day 1, Comedian Irene Tu opens up our festival with a hilarious comedy set, followed by a Q&A with California's youngest state law maker Alex Lee who rejects fossil fuel $$$. Then, you'll have the opportunity to choose between two action hours: Plastic and Policy!

On Day 2, SF Department of Environment's Shawn Rosenmoss keynotes on her experiences combining art, activism, and the fight for gender equality, all while figuring out how to combat climate change. Then, Terra.do's Katie Michel will run an interactive workshop on pivoting your career to fight climate change. We'll end SOAPBOXFEST with a panel on wildfires, where Vance Taylor from CalOES, Brandon Smith, formerly incarcerated + CEO of FFRP, and Manisha Priyadarshini address safe evacuations for people with disabilities, challenges incarcerated firefighters face, Indigenous land rights, and more.

WHAT A TIME!! You'll have plenty of opportunities to speak up, ask questions, laugh, and take action.

See you there! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/soapbox-fest-bay-area-climate-community-comedy-tickets-163087887261
