How to Build an Online Professional Presence Without Using LinkedInhttps://www.runtcpip.com/2023/11/how-to-build-online-professional.html

LinkedIn is the biggest and oldest professional social networking site - Which means people sign up and stop looking other places, but they are definitely out there!

If you have a portfolio, have it on the your resume.

They can't find you on LinkedIn if you're deactivated, but they can find you online - if you tell them where to look.

Find communities.

Slacks and Discords can be a big help. I prefer Slack because I forget to use Discord.

The big thing is finding the Slacks and Discords. You can also vist sites like Elpha (Hi, ladies!)

Hint: Before you leave LinkedIn, look for educators, people who make courses or follow-along work - they often have off site communities.

*This is not an invitation to invite me to 'hop on a quick call to see how to get value out of LinkedIn can align with my career goals'. If someone in the comments asks, by all means feel free. Personally, I'm done with the site unless absolutely necessary.

Thank you for posting! Totally agree there are other places to look!I think in these days and age it is also VERY easy to find people online β€œThey can't find you on LinkedIn if you're deactivated, but they can find you online - if you tell them where to look.” I feel like a simple google search might even get one there (should no prevent from guiding/telling where to look though)With slack channels, how do you find them?
I found a list (somehow): https://slofile.com/ It's hit or miss what's active.
