My CrossFit app for Apple Watch has been launched yesterday! 🎉🎉🎉https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wod-insight-watch/id1495895643

Demo: https://youtu.be/s6on0tEt9ngThose of us who do CrossFit know there are not that many apps designed for us. We found a few workarounds with HIIT apps, but mostly we use the watch as an expensive heartbeat monitor. Some have insurance prices tied to Activity Ring data, and even though we do more than just running we might not have enough points recorded by the end of the day.The idea was born on Reddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/crossfit/When I posted my observations on how to improve CrossFit performance https://www.reddit.com/r/crossfit/comments/e8spjf/how_i_hacked_crossfit_open_2020_results_with_data/The app is not only monitoring your calories, heart rate and helping to keep track of your reps but equips with unique insight into your strengths and weaknesses. Here is my friend's Fran report generated by the app: https://wod.voopty.com/user-result/5e373e2c7604f764866f8affThe first revelation was that the round of 15nth took longer than the round of 21nth. The second is her bpm jumped over 200 on pull-ups.You can correlate heart rate spikes with particular movements, learn based on YOUR data what is the best way to recover and when to push harder. Talk to your coach when you get the data - my friend from above was asked to work on better breathing on pull-ups.With the app, you can build a better game plan and crush it safely, with confidence!Web site: http://wod.voopty.com/Follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wod_insight_voopty/ where I post statistics about CrossFit
Very cool! I'd try it, except I have a Garmin watch. I do like the 60 minute time cap for Fran time, sounds like my kind of pace. ;)
My app didn't support workout without time cap, so I just assigned 1hrs as a default ;)I remember times when I got my first pull up, 60mins would have been reasonable pace for me back then 😂
ha, this is cool 😄 i am a cfl1 coach and a product designer. so pretty cool to see those two things blended together. how's it been for your app? do people use it?
Yes, people use it, I have about 500 active users.Competitive athletes became my initial userbase, they looking on graphs like this and trying to find a way how to optimize their performances https://wod.voopty.com/result/wod20point1/5de52678cae9c674070248ce/5de52713cae9c674070251b9My app's userbase is actually growing during the quarantine. Apple Watch app helps people to replace gym timer, suggesting a WOD to do, and trying to beep at you when you are going too hard or too slow.My users can add workouts of their own to the app, many of them are willing to share WODs with the community. I recently added a WOD feed which people picked up quickly. Even I'm using it now ;) If I can't come up with something to do today, I just pick something WOD Insight community is doing. https://wod.voopty.com/wods/all
sounds amazing, great work :)
How are you doing on quarantine? How is your box doing? The quarantine hit hard CrossFit community. My box just gave away all the equipment, so we can use it at home. And we at home, not canceling our subscriptions.
it's been a weird time, to say the least! i was actually laid off from my startup due to covid-19 crisis, and box is closed as well, so nobody is coaching. our members are also renting out equipment and paying memberships, so, actually, I think the box won't suffer that much financially.
that is good the box is ok. Do you teach CrossFit classes online? My box started doing that. Of course, the online classes not the same and not as fun, but it is better than nothing. It helps me to stay motivated and deal with my anxieties during the quarantine 😂😂😂
