A Google Software Engineer trying out something new with her YouTube channel!

Hi fellow Elphas!I am new to this community and in love with it already. Thanks @siya for introducing me to it! I wanted to take this opportunity to share my experience with something new that I am trying and get your opinion on it.I joined Google as a Software Engineer couple of years back and when the pandemic hit, I had a lot of time at my disposal because of the time saved by not traveling in the Bay Area traffic, Google's amazing WLB, etc. So I started doing small fun projects every weekend and that's when it struck me, Why not share this with other people and build a community together? With just 4 videos, I recently passed 250 subscribers on YouTube and the Instagram reel of today's video crossed 6K+ views in just an hour! This was really very motivating and felt like the beginning of something awesome. The best part is that I am loving this process of learning new things every week, sharing them with the community, creating content and doing something I've never done before... building something from scratch!Now for the dilemma... To give some context, I wrote an article on medium couple of years back on "How I got into Google" which got a lot of love (~16K claps) from the tech community and a lot of them DM me saying it would help them if I made videos about tech/interviewing etc. When I started my YouTube channel, the aim was to do something different than what I am already good at so although I could easily get more success with creating content related to interviewing/programming etc, I chose to go ahead with the difficult path of exploring something completely different.I feel like I did the right thing since although the growth might be slow, it is much more rewarding and gratifying. I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
