Before graduating, I asked myself how my career will shift once I start working full time? Disclaimer: I work in Europe, where career paths are often linked with your university degree. I used around three years to get inspired by role models from the tech sphere and look for my next area of interest, as I knew that I did not want to work in business development forever. I then transitioned into product management, leveraging my business strategy experience and the impact I made at my first full-time job.
Then, another question emerged: How do women "make it" to that CXO level, that managerial level, how do they elevate their careers? What is the path, what decisions do you take, how do you start to build your brand or an organization? I followed women I considered role models, but that did not give me enough insights to understand how you should plan your career path.
During the pandemic in 2020, when I questioned many of the decisions I took earlier in life, I got the idea of starting a community. This community's role is to share real-life advice and inspiration about career paths and possibilities to develop in a particular field. I started Femme Lead Podcast to inspire women to see themselves as leaders of the professional world. In each episode, I interview a female role model from a new field of work about her career path, decisions and challenges, advice, and upbringing that influenced her life. One of my podcast guests encouraged me to join Elpha and share the project with the community.
Thus I decided to share this message and ask you: where do you find inspiration?
I would love to hear your feedback on the podcast interviews, and what career path would you like me to tackle? Where do you get your inspiration from? Who do you follow? I would love to hear your thoughts!
