Backed by leading venture funds and weaving together inclusivity, empathy and science, we are building an entirely new approach to online health education covering everything from periods and sex to pregnancy and menopause. LOOM is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to take on the role of Engineering Lead. You will be the first software engineer on our exceptional growing team. As such, you will have the opportunity to assume leadership of our digital education MVP, a web first, mobile optimized site combining video, audio, and text-based learning resources and editorial content. You will have a hands-on, impactful role in building an innovative approach to digital education as you work with LOOM’s team to fulfill our mission of helping women everywhere thrive in their bodies at every stage. You will report to and work closely with our Head of Product as you thoughtfully strategize and and develop the front and back ends of LOOM’s site through our public launch and beyond. You’re a collaborative and communicative leader and team player, excited to join a Seed-stage, growing company and build a world-changing platform that brings together education, wellbeing, and social and reproductive justice.What You’ll Do: Support in the design, architecture and build of LOOM’s first digital education & editorial platform from beta through public launch, and beyond as LOOM’s first engineering hire.Work with a leading development agency to ensure a smooth and efficient handoff of the product prior to launch.Work with the Head of Product and executive team to evolve the technical roadmap and strategy in concert with the broader product roadmap. Work with the Head of Product and, eventually, a Product Design Lead to analyze product usage and ensure happy customers.Write clean, high-quality code and tests while keeping the user experience fast and reliable.Manage and implement DevOps processes.Maintain and update technical documentation. Monitor and resolve client-side and server-side issues.Uphold industry standards and engineering best practices, while remaining pragmatic and bringing consistency to codebases and processes you encounter.Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end.Deploy frequent improvements to make all aspects of the digital product more performant, reliable, secure, testable and maintainable.Translate and enable arising business functions and requirements:Research and recommend suitable technology solutions and platforms.Develop functional specifications that can be executed in development.Build new and/or extend existing features for both internal and external users.Achieve elegant solutions across the digital product.Grow with LOOM as we scale our engineering team. Required Technical Skills & Qualifications:At least 5+ years experience in a professional software engineering positionCS degree not required, but nice to have.
