Calling all Women of Wearables out there!
Dear Elphas,I have the opportunity of writing a chapter of a book about UX and IoT. The chapter I will be writing is about UX and Wearables. I'm planning to bring in case studies and I would love to feature wearables that are created by women!!If you are a woman of wearable or you know one please get in touch with me and let's discuss this opportunity!
Hi, I'm not usually on Elpha, but I saw this linked to elsewhere. I've created a number of LED wearable projects over the years, some of which are on my blog: geekmomprojects.com, and patented and created an LED wearable commercial product aimed at enticing girls to learn to code with wearables: brightwearables.com. If that fits with your interests, you can reach me at debra(at)brightwearables.com
Thank you so much! I will have a look and let you know
Hi! I shared this with a group of hackers / makers, and here's what someone said in response:"I recommend the works of Hanna Plusea, Nan Wei Gong, and Jie Qi"Hope that's helpful :)
Thank you so so much for sharing my post. I don’t know the women mentioned. I will look them up. Thanks again!
Sweet! Also, check out the work from glowascii (https://twitter.com/glowascii?lang=en). She made a wearable robot owl named Archimedes! (https://www.hackster.io/glowascii/archimedes-the-ai-robot-owl-325ff5)
Just like Debra I also work on wearbles but mostly commerical for various startup and larger companies. Mostly know for the Kickstarter project Bia Sport and launching v1 and v2 platforms of Project Jacquard. You can find me on twitter, @rebelbotjen
