Over and over, I hear groups of women in tech talking about doubting themselves… but is there a reason for that?
Let me check.
You are a woman in tech and you’ve been
- Talked over
- Mansplained
- Stolen your ideas
- Told you’re too much – too assertive, talkative, ambitious…
- Told you’re not enough – you don’t have enough potential, strategic vision, risk appetite
- And told every year at your annual review that you’re doing a great job but you don’t get promoted.
And then, when your career doesn’t progress, you second-guess yourself thinking that you’re not doing things right and that you should do more.
What else is missing from that list?
Let me know in the comments.
