People Ops in tech

Hi all! I'm interested in getting into people ops in tech. My background is in general operations, and I've done some work in HR when I worked for a very small org. I don't have a formal HR certification, and as a new parent I can't afford a huge pay cut (currently at $95k in my current Ops role), so starting in an entry role in people ops isn't really an option for me right now financially. Any tips for how I can make a transition without sacrificing on pay? Do you suggest getting an HR certification to break into a role that way?

Thanks for the advice!

I think your background makes a ton of sense for People Ops! I could see you moving into a mid-level POps role at a smaller tech startup with that background, even without additional certification.
