Leaders need advice too: negotiating pay and title

Hi all, I’m seeking advice since I’m finding myself in a situation where I’m concerned on an ethical perspective.I’ve been in a project role for the past 6 months. Within this organizational department for 12 yrs, interdepartmental collaborative functions for 5 yrs through professional development that also enhances the department resources. In that time I’ve aligned departmental resources, strategy, and managed knowledge. I’m however in the same title and pay as my original role. My passion for knowledge drove me to manage my primary role while part time nurturing KM in the department. The move was finally asked my leadership for me to fill the role and I partially demanded the duality needed to end. Hence the current special project role. I’m also at the point where I’ve recognized that my role is aligned to other titles and have addressed this concern with my immediate leadership. They also promoted another person to this title and I’m doing a portion of the workload in my “project” role. To balance the lack of progression, I’ve established a professional goals externally but often hit these barriers internally in the corporation as a WOC with an advanced degree. I’ve mastered this role and am seeking a way to handle this future discussion. My current director has only expressed empathy. How have you addressed this yourself? Should I voice this to ethics and compliance? I appreciate any insights! Sincere Regards
