How to be productive on the weekends?

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the Elpha community, and I'm very excited to meet some amazing, likeminded women.

I would like to know if anyone's got any tips on how to be productive during the weekends?

I've found that over the last few months I would rather stay inside rather than make plans or try and do anything other than stay indoors. Don't get me wrong, I love having a chill weekend, but I feel like every single weekend is a bit of an overkill - I want to actually do something with my free time!

If anyone has any advice or recommendations, please let me know!

Thank you :)

It can be really hard to motivate yourself to do things on the weekend, especially when you get into the habit of a chill weekend. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with chilling on the weekend, but if its not actually giving you what you need then its time to shake things up. I find that having something to look forward to really helps and scheduling it in advance. If you schedule coffee with a friend, for example, you're more likely to stay out - maybe walk around, go to a park, do some shopping. Look for markets or pop ups in your area that have things you're interested in and buy a ticket if needed. Its usually a small commitment but having a ticket to something will help motivate you to get out. Another great option is to tack on something fun to an errand you have to run like doing a yoga class close to where you go grocery shopping, taking an art class close to where you have to drop off your dry cleaning. Also find something that feels productive that you can do at home on the couch - crochet, embroidery, learning a language, watching documentaries - there are all homey activities that may still give you that productive feeling you're looking for.
@oceanking Does this has to do with the weather? I find myself a lot more inclined to go outside when it is nice, but not so much when it is not. I would go out and check out some local places, such as cafes, restaurants, and places where you might like to spend some time in by yourself. Pick up a flyer while you are out and about, and maybe you will see things that pique your interest and decide it is worth your while to see what it's about. It is about keeping an open mind and trying different things out, and eventually you will naturally be drawn to some things.
It depends on your definition of productive. What are you hoping to do during your weekend? Maybe get some chores done, spend some times on hobbies, catch up with the people you care about, exercise?Consider how you can move activities indoors. For example, instead of going out to eat with friends, make it an indoor get together/potluck. Figure out an activity that everyone is interested in (watching a movie or TV series, playing board games - to name some examples). I also like reserving time on the weekends for more creative work since I tend to be in a more relaxed state compared with the regular 5-day work week.
Two questions! What does productive mean to you? And! What do you like to do?It sounds like you're enjoying your downtime (love a cozy weekend inside) but want to change it up, because it's starting to feel the same. I spend my weekends doing things I know I'll enjoy and book them in advance. I go to hip hop dance classes, book an activity (went to the zoo last Sunday!), and schedule one social activity with a friend. Sometimes, I don't feel like it but I always feel better afterwards. Lemme know what you come up with!
