What are your views on the 'Lord of the Rings' series controversy? Is this "forced diversity" as many critics seem to say it is?

As a fan of the books, the movies and looking forward to this show, I love the diverse casting. If you're watching a show with elves, magic rings (or dragons for the Game of Thrones crowd) and seeing talented people cast in these roles is what takes you out of the fantasy, that's about you, not about the show. Did we learn nothing from Hamilton?
