Bootstrap vs. Raising VC Money
If someone is starting a company, should he/she bootstrap or raise VC money?
Hey Pianpian! These threads may be helpful as folks have shared their thoughts on this previously: https://elpha.com/posts/jaidjca4/bootstrapping-vs-investmenthttps://elpha.com/posts/v7ljwj4n/is-anyone-here-bootstrapping-their-companyhttps://elpha.com/posts/qsw82q6g/in-which-situations-do-you-think-bootstrapping-is-a-better-choice-than-vc-funding
Thank you!
My favorite book on Startups is REWORK. I'd refer to the chapter "Outside money is Plan Z" "No matter what kind of business you're starting take on as little outside cash as you can. Spending other people's money may sound great, but there's a noose attached..." And there's a big gap between bootstrap and VC. Friends and family is usually first if you really need money.
