Thoughts on "The Culture Code" ?

One of my book clubs just read this, and while I found it very thought-provoking, I was also irritated that all of the cultures the author examined were heavily male-dominated ones -- military, athletics, places like Pixar and Google or the old Bell Lab, the New York restaurant scene.... So while a lot of what was in there as far as culture-building advice made sense, I also found myself distrusting it, since so many of those supposedly great cultures have at least aspects that are deeply toxic.
I wonder if Mr. Coyle's investigations were affected by him being a man himself. Those companies may have been more open to him because of it, but he may have needed a female co-author to truly investigate women's spaces.
