Diversity talks should include age

Lol, am I the only non Elpha cofounder on this thread?!Great initiative! It is time we included age in diversity discussions. I have plenty of friends that start worrying about their career longevity once they hit 45.
Age is still a sensitive topic. As soon as you mention age in conversations, people start excluding you from select topics. Better not to bring it up. If people volunteer the information, that's best.
I know but the same was true of the LGBTQ movement. It was once recommended "don't ask, don't tell"
I agree. It's very like how the "Gay Liberation" activists had to operate in the 1970s. One can be "out" to some acceptance, but not "flamboyant," whatever that is supposed to mean.
I can't really hide my age, so I guess I'm "flamboyantly out" as over 50.
