[Seeking Advice] Career Switch to Product Design

Hi there! Any tips for someone looking into making a career switch from Email/Lifecycle/CRM marketing in tech into product design?

  • Any UI/UX bootcamp you recommend?
  • Any thoughts on going back to school vs bootcamp?

In adddition I'm finding it difficult to find junior level product design roles or internships offered to people who aren't currently in school. Does anyone have tips on this?

Thank you so much ❤️ Appreciate everyone's time and help in advance! Please also feel free to DM me as well. I'd love to connect with anyone in the field as well as XFN partners of a Product Designer to learn more about the collaboration and synergy these roles would have with one another such as PMs, Engineers and UX Researchers.

I would definitely recommend a boot camp, do your research to find one that fits your needs. Boot camps offer great overview of the process and practical work to get you started on a portfolio. You will also get job search support and community support from a boot camp. It’s one of the best ways to switch jobs in tech. I support women in tech to navigate careers in tech, happy to offer a chat on this topic, DM me to chat further.
I occasionally see design internship roles shared by designers on Twitter for their companies, so that may be a platform that'll be great for you to follow and keep a pulse on internships as they come up!
